Genus of this Family


Rhizome usually short, erect bearing closely tufted stipes, and also slender lateral branches runners which spread for a considerable distance. Stipe grooved and scaly. Fronds long and narrow simply pinnate with spreading pinnae. Lamina usually broad and unequal at the base. Pinnules sessile, adnate, articulated, usually closely placed and slightly falcate, the lowest ones reduced and more widely spaced, a few very small apical one adnate, apical lamina short and small. Veins all free. Sorus terminal on the vein, or near the edge of the lamina, one to each vein group. Indusia usually round reniform shaped. Spores translucent, brown.
