Genus of this Family


Epiphytic or rarely terrestrial, growing sub-erect or pendent on rocks or tree trunks. Rhizome slender, usually short-creeping, covered with brown-black scales. Fronds simple, sessile or stipitate narrowly linear, grass-like, glabrous. Stipe tufted rarely distant. Lamina firm herbaceous or coriaceous. Venatoin consisting of midrib and simple, very oblique lateral veins which join to form continuous submerged veins, more or less a deeply incised groove, branched paraphyses usually present and slightly distinct in some cases. Sorus linear, with a single row at each side of the costa, in marginal or extra-marginal grooves. Spores yellowish-green to bright yellow, monolete and exine smooth.
