flowers. Petals connate in male flowers, free in female flowers. Stamens adnate
to base of the tube, rarely free, anthers dorsifixed. Carpels 4-many, ovary
superior, 2-many celled with 1-2 ovules in each cell, pendulous, style very
short or absent, stigma usually lobed, capitate or discoid. Fruits 1-seeded drupe.
