axillary or terminal cymes or pseudoumbels, bisexual, actinomorphic, 5-merous,
homo or hetero-stylous, rarely cleistogamous. Sepals 5, persistent. Petals 5,
free or sometimes connate at base. Stamens usually 10, obdiplostemonous, outer
shorter ones epipetalous and the inner longer ones episepalous. Carpels 5,
sometimes 3, united, ovary superior, 3-5 angled. Fruit a capsule or berry.
