Terrestrial ferns. Rhizome long, creeping, dichotomously branched, covered with non-glandular hairs,  Fronds borne on long intervals on the rhizome. Lamina large forming thickets, scrambling or climbing, main rachis bearing opposite pairs of lateral branches. The apical bud protected by hairs of scales and often by stipule-like leaflets. Main rachis branches, either unbranched, bearing leaflets pinnately arranged, short leaflets bears a pair of branch like the main rachis with arrested terminal bud, the process continued several times. Veins forked more than once. Sporangia with annulus and open by a vertical slit. Sori exindusiate, small with few spores. Spores small perisporiate, trilete tetrahedral.
