A terrestrial fern.
Rhizome long creeping, usually covered
with dense hairs and solenustelic. Fronds large, bipinnate or more compound.
Lamina finely divided, usually bearing reddish or white hairs, herbaceous in texture.
Veins free. Sporangium either coenosori in a marginal or sub-marginal
commissure or round and protected by a small reflexed lamina lobe. Sori apical,
present on the veinlets, close to the margin of a lobe, uaually protected by a
small, thin, reflexed lobe of the lamina, sometimes also by a separate inner
idusium. Indusia single forming by reflexed margin of segments. Veins usually
free, rarely anastomosing without free included.
