Erect, viscidly pubescent herbs. Leaves entire or sinuate. Flowers in terminal panicles or subterminal racemes. Calyx ovoid or tubular, 5-fid with narrow lobes. Corolla campanulate or funnel-shaped with 5 lobes, induplicate in bud. Stamens 5, adnate to the base of the corolla tube, filaments filiform, anthers ovate, dehiscence longitudinal. Ovary 2-celled with many ovules, stigmas shortly 2-fid. Fruit a 2-celled or rarely 4-celled capsule, with 2 valves.
