Description


Herbaceous or woody twiners. Leaves petiolate, ovate to orbicular, entire or 3-5 lobed. Flowers in axillary, sessile or short peduncled, dense cymes. Bracts small, caducous. Sepals subequal, acute to obtuse, hairy to glabrous. Corolla yellowish-white, urceolate, limb shortly 5-lobed with hairy midpetaline bands. Stamens included, filaments dilated at base into a large concave scale, arched over ovary. Disc large, annular or cupular. Ovary 2-celled, each with 2 ovules, style 1, short, stigma 2, capitate. Fruit a capsule, 4-valved, glabrous or puberulous seeds.
