Twiners, prostrate or erect herbs, or low shrubs. Leaves petiolate, entire, dentate, lobed or palmately or pedately partite. Flowers few to many in axillary cymes or flowers solitary. Bracts small. Sepals subequal, often enlarged in fruits. Corolla funnel-shaped or campanulate, white or yellow to orange, glabrous with 5 distinctly veined midpetaline bands, limb 5-lobed. Stamens included. Ovary 2 or 4-celled, style 1, filiform, stigma 2-globular. Fruit a capsule, 4-valved or irregularly dehiscent. Seeds glabrous, pubescent  or villose margin.
