Description


Perennial herbs or sub-shrubs. Stem glabrous or puberulous. Leaves opposite, obovate or narrowly lanceolate, eglandular. Cyme axillary, solitary or paired. Flowers pink or white. Calyx 5-lobed, lobes subulate, more or less equal, eglandular within. Corolla salver-form, tube cylindrical, throat constricted, hairy within, lobes shorter than the tube. Stamens 5, inserted, anthers not-connivent with stigma. Disc modified into 2 long, linear glands alternating with the carpels. Carpels 2, free. Follicles 2, cylindrical, green.
