Description


Perennial or annual, erect aromatic herbs. Leaves simple, petiolate, serrate, gland-dotted. Flowers in shortly pedunculate axilary cymes. Bracts small. Calyx tubular or campanulate, 10-nerved, scarcely bilabiate, clearly enlarged in fruits and prominently ribbed, tube with villous hairs, teeth erect, subulate, equal or subequal. Corolla bilabiate, small, inconspicuous, upper lip 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed with a saccate base to middle lobe, tube slender, not annulate within, scarcely exserted beyond calyx teeth. Stamens 4, included, didynamous, declinate, thecae unilocular, glabrous. Styles shortly bifid. Nutlets oblong, compressed, emarginate, only 1 or 2 developed.
