Description


Evergreen, aromatic, glabrous shurbs or small trees. Leaves opposite, entire, shortly petiolate; stipules ovate, cuspidate, persistent. Cymes axillary, condensed, bracteate, subsessile. Flowers (4-) 5-merous, very small, bracteolate, sessile. Calyx tube very short, exceeded by the lobes. Corolla with a band of appressed hairs inside at the top of tube and base of lobes surrounding anthers, lobes suberect. Anthers subsessile. Ovary 2-locular, ovules numerous, styles included, hirsute above with 2 suberect branches. Fruits indehiscent, globose or ovoid, small. Seeds imbricate, compressed.
