Description


Erect or bushy shrubs with shiny pale corky barks. Leaves sometimes anisophyllous, petiolate or subsessile. Inflorescence in terminal, axillary or cauline paniculate cymes. Flowers 5-merous, often heterostylous. Calyx tube short. Corolla infundibular or broadly campanulate, yellow or white. Stamens inserted at the base, middle or throat of corolla tube, anthers included or tip barely exserted. Ovary 2-locular, ovules many, styles filiform, included or barely exserted, bifurcate at or above middle, lobes linear, glandular. Berries globose, fleshy or coriaceous, white, indehiscent or splitting irregularly, fruiting calyx persistent. Seeds numerous, minute.
