Description


Herbs or subshrubs. Leaves opposite or pseudo-verticillate, stipules long-cupspidate. Inflorescence of lax terminal and subterminal cymes, pedicels very short. Flowers small, many, 5-merous, hypanthium obovoid or cylindric. Calyx tube obsolete, lobes small. Corolla narrowly campanulate. Anthers oblong, tip exserted. Ovary 2-locular, ovules numerous, styles filiform, stigmas bifid. Capsules small, narrowly oblong, 4-valved, calyx persistent. Seeds numerous, minute, angled.
