Description


Rhizome erect, trunk like, stout, apex covered with shining dark brown scales. Fronds tufted. Lamina typically pinnatifid or simply pinnate with undivided, long narrow pinnae, occasionally simple or lobed. Pinnae catadromous, or the lower isodromous or weakly anadromous, often adnate and decurrend. Sometimes with small, interspersed lobes. Margin often crenate to sharply dentate, entire. Texture coriaceous, glabrous. Veins free close. Sori borne on the midrib. Sporangia crowded, large having an annulus. Spores monolete.
