Description


Erect herbs or undershrubs. Lower leaves opposite, upper ones sometimes alternate, petiolate, ovate. Capitula in dense terminal corymbs, homogenous, discoid, pedunculate, involucre campanulate. Bracts 2-3 seriate, oblong-elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, herbaceous, receptacle conical, naked. Corolla tubular, 5-lobed, sometimes hairy. Anthers acutely appendiculate at the apex, obtuse at the base. Styler arms slender, exserted, obtuse at the tip. Cypsela oblong, 4-5 ribbed, pappus of 5-paleaceous scales.
