Description


Annual or perennial, prostrate herbs. Leaves alternate, oblanceolate or spathulate, entire or toothed. Capitula sessile, small, heterogamous, solitary, usually axillary, involucre globose. Bracts 1-2 seriate, membranous, sub-equal, with scarious margin. Flowers yellow. Outer florets numerous, many-seriate, shortly tubular, female, 2-3 lobed at the apex, inner florets fewer, hermaphrodite, limb campanulate, 4-lobed. Stamens 4-5, anther base obtuse or minutely sagittate. Cypsela 4-5 angled. Pappus absent or minute, spongy corona obscurely toothed at the margin.
