Description


Annual or perennial, creeping, prostrate or decumbent herbs. Leaves alternate, pinnatifid or pinnatisect, toothed to entire. Capitula small, heterogamous, solitary, terminal and axillary, involucre hemispherical to campanulate. Bracts 2-seriate, herbaceous, with scarious margin, receptacle conical, flat or concave. Marginal florets female, 1-2 or many-seriate. Corolla of marginal florets shortly conical, filiform or absent, that of hermaphrodite florets tubular, sometimes with 2 wings, limb 4-fid. Cypsela of marginal ones stipitate, 2-ribbed or winged or wingless, pappus absent.
