Description


Rhizome erect, sub-erect or creeping, in some species slender and wide creeping, scales on the rhizome with many superficial setae. Stipe long 50 cm. Fronds simply pinnate, bi-pinnate or -pinnatified, bipinnatifid. Lower pinnae gradually reduced, the lowest usually not less than 2 cm long and almost all cases auricled on the acroscopic base, pinnae not swollen, largest pinnae shallowly to deeply lobed. Veins free or anastomosing.Sorus indusiate. Spores dark or black, variously tuberculate, or ridged, lackings thin wings.
