Description
Rhizome erect, stout, scales
broad, thin, having marginal, mucilage-secreting hairs in the young condition,
superficial hairs generally absent. Stipe scaly near the base, green above.
Young fronds covered with mucilage, many deeply lobed pinnae present on the
adult frond, apex not pointed pinna like. Pinnae swollen, elongate, basal
pinnae abruptly reduced either to small leaflets or to aerophores, pinna
surface not pustular when dried. Sorus indusiate, indusium firm, glabrous or
having acicular or capitate hairs. Spores monolete, bilateral, pale, bearing
many wings or spinulos.
