Male flowers: stamens distinct, densely grouped, anthers opening by pores or
slits. Female flowers: ovaries ovoid or globose, perfectly or imperfectly 2-4
celled, stigma sessile, ovules many, hemianatropous. Fruit a berry, few or many-seeded.
Seeds small, ovoid.
