Description


Usually climbers, sometimes trees or large shrubs. Leaves imparipinnate, leaflets, 5-11 large. Inflorescence in ample thyrsoid panicle, with nodes not produced into branchlets. Flowers showy. Calyx campanulate, teeth generally short or nearly obsolete. Corolla much exserted. Stamens monadelphous or diadelphous, upper distinctly free from the rest down to the base, filaments filiform, anthers uniform. Ovary sessile, linear. Fruit a pod, linear or oblong, flat, winged on both the satures, 1 or few-seeded.
