slender, reedlike. Leaves many, distichous, ovate to elliptic, base contracted
into amplexicaul sheaths. Inflorescence an axillary raceme or panicle, shorter
than leaves. Flowers scented, distichously arranged, greenish-white to yellow.
Sepals and petals subequal, spreading. Petals slightly wider than sepals.
Column erect, slender; anther inserted on dorsal side of column, oblong or
ovate-oblong; pollinia 2, granular-farinaceous; caudicle slender; viscidium
peltate; stigma with 2; rostellum prominent. Capsules strongly 6-ridged.
