Description
Epiphytic or terrestrial herbs. Stems
covered with leaf-sheath, with leaves on upper half. Leaves linear, lanceolate
or narrowly elliptic, leathery, without a distinct petiole. Inflorescences
synanthous, axillary racemose, laxly to densely many flowered; floral bracts
often large. Flowers widely opening or not, small to medium-sized. Sepals
densely to sparsely pubescent; dorsal sepal narrowly triangular or elliptic;
lateral sepals triangular, attached to column foot. Petals similar in size and
color to dorsal sepal; lip 3-lobed. Anther cap easily detached; pollinia 8,
clavate.
