Description


Epiphytic, monopodial herbs. Leaves 3-10, distichous, flat, lorate, jointed, base with amplexicaul sheathing, apex unequally bilobed. Inflorescences solitary to several, lateral or axillary, erect or pendulous raceme with few to many spirally or distichously alternating flowers. Flowers resupinate, small. Sepals and petals free, spreading; lateral sepals oblique, broader than petals. Petals narrower than sepals; lip hinged to end of column foot, 3-lobed; lateral lobes erect; mid-lobe small, fleshy; spur or sac pointing forward in line with column foot. Column short, stout, with a long foot; rostellum small, 2-lobed; pollinia 2, waxy, subglobose, cleft, attached by a common suboblong stipe, viscidium triangular.
