Description


Terrestrial, acaulescent herbs. Roots fusiform, fleshy. Leaves basal, linear-elliptic or broadly ovate, sheathing at base. Inflorescence terminal, many flowered raceme. Flowers small, spirally arranged around rachis, resupinate, not open widely. Sepals narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, subsimilar, free; dorsal sepal often connivent with petals and forming a hood; lateral sepals dilated or sometimes saccate at base. Petals erect, oblanceolate; lip entire or obscurely 3-lobed, shortly clawed; disk papillose, with 2 fleshy glands at base. Column clavate; anther erect, 2-locular; pollinia 2, each 2-partite, granular-farinaceous, attached to narrow viscidium. Ovary twisted, fusiform; stigma suborbicular to elliptic. Capsule ellipsoid.
