Description


Erect or procumbent herbs or undershrubs, glabrous or hairy. Leaves reniform to cordate, sub-orbicular, lobed or entire. Flowers solitary or fascicled, rarely in terminal racemes. Epicalyx segments 3, distinct, linear to lanceolate. Calyx cupular, 5-lobed, lobes deltoid. Corolla longer than the calyx, petals 5, obcordate to obovate. Staminal column included, divided into numerous antheriferous filaments. Ovary 10-15 loculed, 1 ovule in each locule, style as many as locules, stigmas on the adaxial surface. Schizocarp enclosed in the persistent calyx, mericarps awnless. Seeds reniform, ascending.
