Description


Annual, biennial or perennial herbs, glabrous, sparsely hirsute. Stem erect or simple or branched. Leaves alternate, petiolate or sessile. Inflorescence a short raceme, ebracteate. Flowers yellow, rarely white or pink, pedicellate, regular. Sepals subequal, ovate or oblong, erect, ascending or rarely spreading. Petals obovate, spathulate or oblanceolate, clawed. Stamens 6, tetradynamous, linear, anthers ovate or oblong. Ovary cylindrical, 5 to 50-ovuled, style obsolete or distinct, stigma capitate, entire or 2-lobed. Fruit siliqua, linear or oblong, terete or angular, sessile or stipitate, few-many seeded, smooth or torulose. Seeds uniseriate or rarely biseriate, globose.
