Description


Unarmed trees. Leaves bipinnately compound, leaflets numerous, opposite. Inflorescence head or capitate, peduncles pendulous, solitary or racemose. Flowers in upper part of the heads bisexual and in lower part male or asexual. Sepals 5, 2 larger and 3 smaller, united. Petals 5, connate. Stamens 10, all fertile, united at the base. Ovary stipitate. Pods more or less strap-shaped, straight or slightly twisted, greenish, endocarp whitish. Seeds dark brown, ellipsoid, more or less compressed or flattened.
