Description


Usually trees. Leaves even-pinnate, leaflets opposite, many, small. Flowers in short racemes at end of branches. Sepals 4, imbricate. Petals 3, imbricate. Stamens 3, perfect, connate in a sheath, split above, free portion of the filaments short. Ovary stipitate, many-ovuled, style adnate to the disk lined to calyx tube. Fruits linear-oblong, sub-compressed, lomentum with brittle epicarp, pulpy mesocarp and leathery endocarp, septate within. Seeds obovate to orbicular, compressed.
