Small shrubs, branches angular with appressed stiff hairs. Leaves petiolate, lamina oblong-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, margin entire, ciliate, both surfaces densely strigose. Flowers in clustered cymes, bracteate, bracts leaf-like, bracteoles 2, broadly ovate, each hypanthium crowned by long bristles. Sepals 5, triangular, glabrous, caducous. Petals 5, obovate, light pink. Stamens 10, isomorphic, anthers yellow. Ovary ovoid-globose, 5-celled, apically densely strigose, apex with a setose ring. Capsule ovoid-globose, apically densely strigose. Flowering and fruiting: August-December. Ecology: Scrubs, mountain slopes, forest margins, open slopes and streamsides. Use: Flowers are used for the treatment of sores. Distribution: Rangamati. State of occurrence: Rare.
