Scandent climbing herb, stem glabrous, tendrils bifurcate. Leaves broadly ovate, membranous, 8-12 cm long and as broad, 3-5 lobed, lobes obtuse, margin entire, base broadly sinuate, upper surface punctated, petioles 3-6 cm long.. Plants monoecious. Flowers small, fasciculate. Male flowers: peduncle 5-15 mm long, calyx tube broadly campanulate, 5-lobed, short, corolla greenish-yellow, campanulate, 5-partite, stamens 3, filaments 1.0-1.5 mm long. Female flowers: calyx and corolla as in male, staminodes 3, ovary ovoid, smooth, stigmas 3, bi-lipped. Fruits baccate, globose or ovoid, 14-18 mm in diameter, smooth, yellow-green to red, narrowly white striped. Seeds 6-7 × 3.5-4.0 mm, ovate, attenuate, 2 mm thick, conspicuously belted with a partition wall, slightly raised all round belt. Flowering and fruiting: September-January. Ecology: Occasional at magin of forests. Distribution: Rangamati. State of occurrence: Very Rare.
