Herbs, stem wooly. Leaves elliptic or oblong, 6.0-18.0 × 1.5-4.2 cm, obtuse or acute, spinous-serrate, sub-coriaceous, glabrous above, hairy beneath, base cuneate; petiole 1-2 cm long. Flowers usually in terminal hairy spikes. Bracts linear-lanceolate, both surfaces hairy, spinous-toothed, bracteoles linear-lanceolate, hairy. Sepals 4, in two rows, hairy, 2 outer lobes larger than the inner. Corolla white, tube short. Ovary c 8 mm long, style c 7 mm long. Capsules ellipsoid, compressed, glabrous, shining dark brown in colour. Seeds compressed, glabrous. Flowering & fruiting: March-July. Ecology: Hilly forests. Distribution: Bandarban. State of occurrence: Very Rare.
